1) Know what to expect: As an intern, they won’t give you substantive tasks to do, but it will help make their workload easier. Yes, it maybe scanning, copying, or filing, but you’ll receive exposure and experience of your field and it’ll look good on your resume.
2) Gain trust early on: Working as an intern, you’ll have to prove yourself in the working field. Pay attention to the details, follow instructions, care about the quality of the work you’re doing, even it’s boring, but eventually, someone will notice your work admiration and may appoint you with something interesting.
3) Pay attention to the office culture: Basically observe how they act in the office and imitate it. If they’re on time for meetings, do the same, if they modulate their voices during a call, do the same. It may sound trivial, but it will show and help you stand out from the other interns.
4) Focus: Avoid using social media, unless it’s for your tasks and also avoid using your phone as well. You may think that it won’t affect your work, but it will. Your manager will think so to, since their opinions matter the most.
